Other's have had this question (maybe it should go on the FAQ page)
My understanding is:
wait a day, then everything is fine.
Impression I have gotten is that the system doesn't reset something
that allows you to start another game until it does it's daily
maintenance run.
But then I'm rarely correct in these matters. :>
