Games freeze at move 50?

I'm playing a friend (neither one of us are paying subscribers), and he says he cannot make his final move (I checkmate next move), and he thinks it might be because we both just played our 50th move. Does the site lock players out of moving or finishing a game once they reach move #50?

You can play as many moves & games as you wish. A nag screen will appear after 30 moves though, but it can be easily dismissed. Even so, I suspect this is the problem.
