I'm playing several TO 7 games. When my opponent hasn't made a move in 2 to 3 days, the system automatically sends a move reminder. Why is it doing this when the person hasn't reached the end of their alloted time?

OK, that makes sense. I was thinking of postal chess where you resend your move after the time has passed with no reply.

as a general point, you're best to check your opponent isn't 'on vaccation' when they haven't moved for a while. And remember to set your vaccation flag on when you are going to be away for a while yourself. Its very poor form to claim a game when your opponet is off sunning themselves on a carribean beach with a huge pina colada...

I agree, Toe. That is why I was concerned about the system sending out notices when the guy's TO hasn't expired. I only play TO 7 games and usually give it 2 to 3 weeks with no word from my opponent before I claim a game.

Just a point... as far as I'm aware move reminders appear in the 'My Games' view but are not actually sent to your opponent unless you actually click on them... a message then comes up saying "A move reminder has been sent to...". However when you return to the My Games view the move reminder icon won't have disappeared (this is a bit of a glitch) it will have disappeared when you next log on though.
