Hi everyone

I have some trouble renewing my subscription. My subscription expires in a cpouple of months so i decided to renew it. I went through the process but at the last step when I enter the name of the person i'm subscribing for it says this person is subscribed already.

What do I need to do to renew?
It automatically renews unless you cancel it.

You'll get an email near the time.

Sure he got a low rating but is it fair?

I didn't understand all the rules.

Can anyone can help me?

Many thanks

For the first twenty games, your rating is a running average of your scores.

If you win a game, you score opponent's rating + 400.
If you lose a game, you score opponetn's rating - 400.
If you draw, you score opponent's rating.

So here's an example:

Game 1: Win v. 1600, Score 2000, Running avg. 2000.
Game 2: Loss v. 1800, Score 1400, Running avg. 1700.
Game 3: Win v. 1100, Score 1500, Running avg. 1633.
Game 4: Draw v. 1700, Score 1700, Running avg. 1650.
Game 5: Win v. 1000, Score 1400, Running avg. 1600.
Game 6: Win v. 1800, Score 2200, Running avg. 1700.
etc.

(Of course for the first 5 of your games, your rating is
artificially frozen at 1200. After 5 games, the idea is
that your provisional rating has "settled" enough to have
some meaning when displayed.)

Note that in the first 20 games, your rating can move up
or down quite a bit after each game.

After the first twenty games, your rating goes up or down
based on the standard formula, and a win never loses you
points (if your rating is so far above the rating of your
opponent, you may "win" zero points!), and a loss never
gains you points (if you lose to an RHP master, his rating
may be so high that you "lose" zero points).

After the first twenty games, the most rating points at
risk for a game is 32 points.

Hope this helps.

Actually, no. I was 1677 (I'm logging my ratings separately). This does not show in my "Profile".

If you like puzzles, take a gander at "Harshukutty's" profile. Look at the last 7 days...
I think he's putting off ending his lost games as long as humanly possible. He was moving pretty fast in this game up until about a week ago, and then slowed down to a crawl. I guess I'm going to have to checkmate him.

It is very fair. You should avid playing damn๐Ÿ™‚ beginners like I do.

If you have a 2100 rating and play 600 rated guy you will probably lose some points. However, I am not 100% sure๐Ÿ˜•

Here's one even sadder: mate in 1, last move over 3 days ago despite the fact he's been online several times since.

Looking at his graph, the majority of his losses are by timeout. Seems he just simply abandons games that are lost rather than resign.

Ironically enough, I lost and I lost some points. Further review is underway.

I did, but I didn't see what's puzzling about it. What exactly do you find puzzling? There's nothing puzzling about your graph either, the only thing which is puzzling is that rating in your own log which doesn't show in the graph. The easiest explanation, of course, is a mistake on your side. Knowing you, you'll probably say that's impossible, though. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Strange, because point-wise you're better off posting your losses before your wins.

Well, I just had a conversation with him. He has ambitions to reach a 2000 rating, and once he does he will stop playing on this site so he can concentrate on his studies. In the meantime, my rating (and a lot of other peoples) is going to get artificially inflated when the game inevitably times out, which is how I believe my game is going to end.

Edit: Never mind; he just resigned.
