Is there a way, at all, to have a word in quotes -- or even a percent symbol -- inside parentheses without it being converted to a bloody emoticon?
(Because the problem arises in parenthetical "quotations"😉

Yes, a period will fix things, when it can be applied properly like in my examples above, but most times a period is inappropriate.

Just put a space before the closing parenthesis.
Nowadays "emojis" are copy/pasted in directly, or you can just click on a limited selection available under the Post button. No need for text emojis. Just get rid of text emojis altogether, I say, so we can all use punctuation properly.
