I am quite new to the site, am meant to join a club or a clan? I like to play fast, is there a fast play group?

If you like to play fast may i suggest trying Blitz (Lightning icon near the top right hand corner)

Clubs anyone can join

Clans you need to subscribe to partake in.

Subscribers can join hardcore grand tournaments. They are fast.
