Sounds crazy, but click NEW GAME. Near top left, right next to MY GAMES.

From there, fill info and your game goes up to an open list for people to play you.

Or you can click on OpenInvites and then find the link on the left side "create open invite game".

when you someone specific in mind you can do it directly by going to their home and click challenge "username"
