Options in Blitz Chess

Is a player able to choose an opponent and choose which color side to use in the Blitz chess game?

You can't choose your opponent, you offer a game for others to accept.
You can choose who to play as (black or white) when you create the game as well as the time controls (clock and increment).

Thanks for the info. I was afraid of that --- not being able to choose an opponent. Would be a good blitz option tho' . . .
