I am no techno wizard but

click on the three horizontal bars on the top right of the page
click on 'my settings'
click on profile settings

edit

you will then see a yellow box with profile image, if you click on that you will see a line where it asks you where you want to upload the image from; I had mine saved on my desktop so it was easy to find

It somehow worked for me

Good Luck

When you follow the steps given by @MartinS in the previous post, you will see instructions on the Profile Images page for your profile picture, and also for your header photo.

The profile picture is the one you want, I think. The Header Photo is only displayed on the top banner of your profile page.

Make sure you read the instructions for the profile picture carefully, and edit your picture size to meet the specifications shown there before you upload it.

Thanks. The problem is in the "uploading" and "files" and all that junk! I wasn't born with this knowledge and its too bad because I want to attach a photo of Bobby Fischer when he got out of prison and had a huge beard. I thought it'd be funny.

OK

Google "Bobby Fischer pics" or "Bobby Fischer with beard pics"

Numerous websites will come up; you have to look through a few to find a picture you like

Once you find a picture you like you have two choices to get it onto your desktop

Right click on the picture and in the pop up box various options will appear; one of which is "save image as"

click on that

Next another window will open and to the left you will see all the places to save it

Find "desktop" and click on that

Before you click "save" you can, if you want, go to the "filename" and type in something like "Fisher pic" then click on save.

Close the webpage and on your desktop you should see the picture which you can upload as per previous instructions.

Another option; once you have found the picture you want is to reduce the size of the screen so that part of your desktop is visible and simply click on the picture and keep your finger on your mouse and then drag the picture onto the exposed part of your desktop.

There are other ways but I have found these are the easiest; I am not techno guy either.

Hope this helps

Regards
