I stick to the Newspaper, I like to concentrate on the game, not pieces. If I could change anything I might like color choices for the board and pieces... and perhaps a nice Basic Staunton set.
Perhaps a contest to make another set would be neat... or a way for players to make and share chess sets.
I like wood because it looks the most like chess sets I ahve and its easyer for me to study me move *people in the back start laffing, UncleAdam studing his move?!? Look at his rateing๐*
I have used only newspaper for all my games. The other four styles should be sent into exile to a small island, large enough to hold only three of them comfortably.
i normally use rival classic as i think it's easier 2 tell whats what. i cant tell the difference between the queen and the king on newspaper. smiley is just annoying, wood is ok, but medieval is a good laugh! ๐
4 Rival Classic (The bishops look like the pawns.)
10 Newspaper (Easiest on my eyes, and the pieces aren't confusing.)
5 Wood (Many pieces resemble other pieces too closely.)
0 Medieval (TOO BUSY AND CLUTTERED.)
6 Smiley (Fun and easy on my eyes. The pieces aren't too big compared to the squares they're on, and they are all different.)
