Hi, I just finished a game which ended in a draw, and my rating droped five points. I was under the impression that in drawn games each player lost 1/2 a point. Any ideas?
Each player does not lose half a point, (Actually gain half a point in tournaments but that's another issue) I don't know where you got that.
Let me explain the rating system with an example.
If you play "Akizy" (2456 elo) and get a draw you (yes you!) will probably get lots of points and if you play "bub" (775 elo) you would lose lots of points. It all depends on the margin between you and your opponent.
