Hi, I just finished a game which ended in a draw, and my rating droped five points. I was under the impression that in drawn games each player lost 1/2 a point. Any ideas?

Please read the FAQ before posting.

Each player does not lose half a point, (Actually gain half a point in tournaments but that's another issue) I don't know where you got that.

Let me explain the rating system with an example.

If you play "Akizy" (2456 elo) and get a draw you (yes you!) will probably get lots of points and if you play "bub" (775 elo) you would lose lots of points. It all depends on the margin between you and your opponent.

yeah, the faq shows the math that happens each time...

and rhp isnt elo 😛

oops, it might be the system here, im totally lost know, just all i know is it ratings cant be compared to any OTB rating...
