Rating, huh?

Just started here on this website. Still got provisional rating. But in my statistics I see that my rating has dropped 4 times. I played 12 games, and two of them I lost and the rest I won. How come I lost 4 times rating points?

Until you play 20 games, odd things can happen to your provisional rating. After 20 games, things will be what you expect as far as your rating movement.

Play strong players, and win the games, and you will see quantum leaps of your ratings as long it is a provisional rating. After 20 games it is not provisional anymore, and normal rating calculations kicks in.

What games played are not rated?

Set piece games, and any game created as an unrated game (check the Info link on the MyGames page). Also blitz games.
