Because you are a pro'.

From the FAQs
Until a player has completed 20 games, they will have a provisional rating.

Provisionally rated players will have their rating locked at 1200 until 5 rated games are completed. After 5 games, a rating is displayed, but this rating is still considered provisional until 20 games are complete.

Ratings can be erratic until after these games.

So why did my rating drop when I beat a lower-rated player?

I've played way more than 20 games.

Can you lose points for playing below your rating???

You're not a provisional player anymore, that's true, so you should not lose rating points unless you lose, or draw a game to a inferiour opponent...
Please, tell us which game you were losing rating points when you shouldn't and we'll tell you why.

I think this is someone looking at their graph seeing their graph not go up. Your next game finished will show an up-spike for your win against the 800 player. Very small up ward spike... graph is always one game behind for some reason.

When you challenge someone you decide whether or not the game will be rated.
When challenged you agree by playing.

Okay, the graph issue makes sense now.

Good to know it lags, I'm sure that was it. 😀
