Unfortunately you can also rec a post for being drivel, for being written by a certain person or for no reason whatsoever, so the recs are pretty worthless. But if a post gets lots of recs, there's a good chance it really is an interesting post. If you follow the link "Recommended", you'll get a list of recommended posts, starting with those with most wrecks.
