Wouldn't it be cool if there was one tournament that everybody could play for just one time to see who is the truly undisputed champion...

Just an idea.

It would take ages and it would be a strain on Russ and Chris. But it could be done.

Well....as orkyboy said....there are 30,000 member on this site! It takes months for a tourney with 128 players to finish...imagine that with 30k!

I used a calculator... something they frown on! Prose of Poetry are now the "Chess Lords". Changed the name to drum up some new members. Think I got one perhaps.

Some people could come and go from the site in mid torney. 😕

But we have one on-going tourney that we're all invloved in every day and the top palyer table is a far better guide to who is raelly the top player. In a knock out competition even the top player could have an off day. In any case, such a huge knockout tourney would take too many months or years to complete and players are joining all the time.

not all 30,000 are actually active - lots have left.

Exactly. I was gonna post that but now u say it...

And even without the games going fast from auto TOs couldn't Russ figure out who the active players in the top 2000 and enter them.

Russ could also send people a private message asking them if they wanted to be in it.

Well, maybe he can do that automaticly, but I don't think he likes to send 2000 messages!😕 And when a game isn't yet started, you can't time anyone out! Only send a reminder and delete!
