Sieges

How do these work? I read the explaination on the sieges page but I'm still confused. So the player can't draw or he gets kicked off the board? What color does he play? Is there any goal to it except the pride of staying on the board as long as you can?

The way I see it it works like this.
When you challenge someone on a siege board you play white. If you win or draw you are the new defender of that board. From then on you will play black and must win every game to defend the board. As soon as you draw or lose you are ousted.
