Signal on thread

I think would be nice if possible that a signal inform you if there are new threads in a both in sections and in threads since i connect last time. Often i open a section and i don't know if there are new replies and i open a thread already read. I hope you understood me but my english is not good and i hope something could be done.

I often check the Developpers forum (takes me two clicks to see if there are any new postings. and i read everything in the help site ideas...
this would be very helpful. peraps this possiblity comes with the rss / xml stuff?
