Hi,
Im looking for a reasonably simple tutorial on reading PGN values. Something like white e4 is pretty straight forward, but, for example Nxd8 is a mystery. All Ive been able to find is the official PGN specifications, which is way to complex. Anyone?

You don't need to learn pgn,you need to learn algebraic notation. For instance, the move you gave means knight takes on d8.
This site explains this form of gamenotation: http://www.logicalchess.com/info/reference/notation/
