Strange rating-thing

I just noticed that my rating dropped 18 points from drawing to a 1600, from 1875 to 1857... after thinking that's a bit much, I went to check and saw that from those 18 I lost about 9 points by winning from a 1330 player. Isn't that a bit weird? I don't care too much about rating, but I think that this is just incorrect, something went wrong with the site or something.

If we are talking about the game Game 4226587 you went down from 1866 to 1857. You lost 9 rating points. Your opponent went up from 1642 to 1651, the same 9 points. When a rating difference is 224 points, a change at a draw of 9 points is correct, as far as I can see.

Of course. It's just that before he accepted to that draw, I had a rating of 1875, and right after it went down to 1857, and all of a sudden I went 9 or so points down from the game before, that I won.

Edit: That game before against 1324 or so, I went from 1874 to 1866 instead of from 1874 to 1875, what it had been before.

You should have gained 1 point from that won game. I've just checked your profile graph and you did actually gain the 1 point. Perhaps there's another game you didn't allow for, as well.

On my profile graph you can see that I didn't gain the 1 point from that game, but lost 8 points. The 1 point I gained from 1873 to 1874 is from the other game against the same player that I won. I should've gained 1 point twice.

Yes, it definitely looks wrong. Something similar happened to someone else not long ago, so it seems to be some bug. Send feedback.

damn, does this mean ive to keep track of my rating?🙁

I play at another site. Recently I lost 3 and draw 2 games to lower rated players(rather questionable). I had a little over a 200 point rate drop. The losses I can live with?????But those draws that cost huge numbers just arent fair. Often I give a draw when a game is even and will really drag on for infinity. Is there justice in the system? Who knows whats fair. Sometimes I wish the rating system would just go away.

sometimes i wish poo was food, so no little kids had to die anymore for lack of food, but i guess sometimes its just not that simple🙂
