I love the site and the service and the community, here. I do have an idea or two for improving things around the edges, but they are only suggestions and not at all complaints:
In the various listings of a person's games, it would make identifying one game from another much easier if one or more additional bits of data were displayed. Yes, the gameId, player name, last move date, etc., are sufficient, technically speaking, but not entirely conventient when you have a lot of games going. To make things easier to id quickly, include at least which color the player has in the game, and perhaps also include how many moves have been made or an ECO code for the opening.
Along similar lines, the way last move is displayed on the main game boards is not entirely intuitive. Rather than seperate lines for piece moved, piece captured, and what move number is next, why not just say, Last move: 5...Nxd5? It's the way most chessplayers, I think, are used to thinking.
Originally posted by GMFNothing "patzer'" about any of that. I do like the abbreviateed "last move" suggestion. It cuts to the chase. Gets a rec.

Good ideas, all of them.
I'd like to add one more idea which is a "must have" for me. On the "My Games" page, give me an HOURLY countdown for my time remaining. I know I can see the date of the move, and I can see the days-per-move, but it doesn't hit me with the same urgency.
Game #1 - you have 3 hours to move. That means I gotta play NOW.
Game #2 - you have 15 hours to move. That means I can drive home and eat supper first.
I also play chess at www.itsyourturn.com and quite like their game status display - notably because it has the hour countdown.
I'd also like to be able to edit the game name to something more personally meaningful (and, perhaps private so it's not displayed to my opponent - so I can mark it as I really think!).
