Is there limit of to the number of clans you can join?
I am a member of three clans, and I was asked to join a fourth. When I tried to join, I got an error message saying there is a three clan limit. Looking at other people's profiles it appears that they are members of more than three clans.

Seems there was a bug sometime ago and a few people were able to join a fourth. The loophole has since been closed.
I'm not sure what happens when someone with four decides to leave one and join another
