This may sound stupid, and I wonder if anyone would actually use it, and it would probably take more work than it's worth, but I had an idea. I was thinking it might be nice to have the option of timing out into a draw. Say you can't be bothered waiting for your opponent to move, but don't feel you deserve a win? Man, this sounds ludicrous even as I type it. However, I can imagine myself possibly wanting to do that. Anyone else have thoughts on this? An option to timeout into a no-rating-change result would be interesting too.

Its been mentioned before. Apparently, if you go into the archive page, there is a 'hidden' option to delete a T/O game, rather then claim the win. Never tried it, so don't know if it works.

discovered it, used it, and it does work 🙂 . I usually use it when I have an abandoned game that I wasn't clearly winning - that way I don't inflate my rating and convince myself I can actually pay this game.

go to manage games. If a game is past TO then it will have a 'tick box' next to the game in the delete game column. Tick it, hit update, and the game is gone.

I hope this doesn't screw with the system (C&R - comment?)

Yup, I had the option come up, bud did not use it. I think I was waiting for a friend to come back from vacation, and found this trick by accident.

Ah, that's good to know about that deleting trick, if it's still around. Thanks everyone. Still, I'd like to be able to cancel without losing the record of the game from my archives. Of course, I keep my own local pgn, so that's not a big deal.
