Without using vacaction...how can I place myself unavailable for team games?

If you mean League games?
Then you go to the "Clan settings" and chose "No League Clan".

If you mean ordinary clan games, go to "my settings" then "clan settings" and remove the tick from the box for clan availability. If you do this too often your clan leader is likely to get upset with you, unless you PM him/her with the underlying reasons.
