It would be excellent, if it was possible to leave a small vacation message on activation, so that you could write how long you're going to be away.

Would make it easier for people to relate to your on vacation sign, and not go jumpy. For some vacation can be a weekend trip, for others it can be a month or two.....

Sounds like an excellent idea! I think it would be a good feature.
For now, we can put that sort of information into our profile.

Yep. Its good but not everyone will bother to visit your'profile' page. Better would be a 'mouse over' on that players vacation icon that showed the details. Possible? Or even a link from the vacation icon much like the 'info' link?
Anything to avoid a page change.
