Where does it say when a player is returning from their vacation? I can't find where it says how long they have booked......I expect it is somewhere very obvious so can someone please direct me to it?
    Thanks.

    You can't.

I think this is kind of a weak point of the new vacation system. You can book one vacation of 5 days and you can book 5 vacations in a row one day each and the system treats this differently. Therefore the system cannot give you information of when the vacation ends, depending how the vacation booking is done.

In my opinion is sealed moves during the vacation the only fair solution.

I find that hard to believe. Is that the same for subscribers - if so it seems pretty pointless having vacation flags at all.
Why not do away with skulls altogether.......?

"I'm away on vacation - guess how long for - doh!"

    Ridiculous.

I hope I'm wrong. I hope there would be a way to see when the opponent will be back. But I haven't seen one.

The skulling is good, but not during the vacation. But this current system could be made so the moves are sealed and the times are frozen. That's how it's done OTB, and that's fair. It would be fair at RHP too.

    But this is my opinion.

The post that was quoted here has been removed
I can't remember asking this before - if I did I didn't get an answer.

I started a game in open invites with the name of "no vacations, only" or something like that and my opponent has naffed off on vacation. Though on this occasion she has said in her profile when she will be back, I wondered if that meant she HAD to come back at the stated time.

My own fault, I said I wasn't going to play anyone who could use the new system. 😞

I see now players are back on vacation with 0 days on their timebank because they go on playing with their vacation flag on. If someone is allways slow on answering I claim when possible, but if someone has had one vacation I would not do it. The trouble is that I often can't remember. Still looking for improvements? arnosof

Apparently it makes no difference anyway - just ignore it.

Once a vacation period has started it cannot be changed.
There is no way of seeing the vacation calendar of another player.
The clocks still tick while on vacation - yours and your opponents.
You can still move if you are on vacation.
You can't be timed out (skulled) while on vacation.
You can only go on vacation if you are a subscriber.

To summarise - the only thing the vacation flag gives you is immunity from being 'skulled' - non-sub scum need not apply.

I have an opponent on vacation who notes in his profile, 'Back 28 December'. I'd like to wish him a merry christmas, and to skull him. Do I really have to wait for eight months?

No you do not. He has 36 days of vacation time per year. So he can't be on vacation until December.

    Why?
It fits in nicely here with all the other personality defects certain members have.
