What is meant by "wait for this move" & "wait for any move" links?

As far as I know, your window will automaticly refresh itself to a game when you have a move available (in that specific game, or any game depending on the thing you clicked).
But I could be wrong because I dont use it.

Edit: it will check every 20 seconds if you have a move available.

Actually, it keeps getting more and more time befor it checks.
