What does Rated mean?

What does the column headed Rated actually mean?
Isn't the rating figure the real measure of ability?
My stats say Played 30 Rated 29 so how is this figure calculated?

Ah! I hadn't spotted that - that is a bad heading. It means number
of games that have been rated. This figure excludes games where
the result came after fewer than 2 moves.

I will rename that heading straight away.
