Why are recommended posts unavailable?

Edit. Just found the feature to dig em out and I see what you mean. Haven't a clue, ask Russ. Maybe he's doing maintenance or just cleaning out the archives.

Edit 2: It isof little interest to me though, as I have reached 100 recs, and am therefore eligable for my free bottle of champers as I was told I would be when I first posted the question in the forums 'What is a rec?'.

I wonder if it would really be missed if the "rec" feature just totally vanished.

The idea of allowing members to recommend posts they feel deserve recognition is good, but from what I've seen it's just another toy used to play 'big number' games.
