WTF is this a rating bug?

I'm not complaining, but I do want a rating a properly deserve. This is my first time on RHP and I played my first 5 games, with a 3-2-0 record. Amazingly, after the games were finished, I was accorded a rating of over 1600 as a provisional! I think that's mathematicly impossible, you may want to check it out. . .

Relax. Provisional ratings are somewhat erratic, but once you get past the provisional status, your rating will be close to what it should be here, and will settle down after that.

This is how your rating was worked out (see also the link quoted by thire) :

Game 657128 you lost to lc1mal, who was rated 1687; this gives a guess at your rating of 1687-400 = 1287
Game 657934 you won against percival86, who was rated 1539; 1539+400 = 1939
Game 657151 you won against becdude, who was rated 1470; 1470+400 = 1870
Game 658055 you lost against jofaz, who was rated p1400; 1400-200 = 1200
Game 661010 you won against iluvatar, who was rated 1413: 1413+400 = 1813

The average of 1287, 1939, 1870, 1200 and 1813 is 1621.8, so you have a provisional rating of 1622. You may notice that, with one exception, you have beaten each of the players rated lower than 1600 and lost to the one rated above 1600. The exception is the result against jofaz, who also has a 'p' rating, albeit a stable one.

It looks to me as if 1622 is a pretty fair rating for you on the basis of the results so far.
