For those of us who still use Windows XP, get yourself Launchy.
It lets you specify index locations so you can quickly type partial program names from your start menu or filenames of files you want to open, like the search function in Vista/7 lets you do.
Launchy just has more configuration options to let you decide which folders etc. get indexed and also lets you launch FireFox bookmarks.

If you want to use it for any web work, get eclipse for PHP developers - it has all the basics a web dev needs, plus you can get plugins for it later if you need them, like SVN integration from the IDE itself.
TeraCopy works wonderful - I haven't seen any bugs yet.

Yes, I too refuse to use the most efficient, powerful and versatile free compression software out there because it refuses to shave its legs everyday.

Personally I think it looks OK, WinRAR used to look much worse, but I don't know what it looks like now since 7zip handles everything I throw at it...

I remember using pkzip and a bunch of command line switches to span archive games off my buddy's PC over sets of 20+ floppies.
'twas a simpler time...
