    Three Stages of Romantic Love

    1) Attraction to physical attributes, social skills, intellect or personality (If marriage occurs during this stage, the honeymoon is usually as good as it gets); 2) Compatibility (Discovering shared frames of reference, interests, beliefs and objectives); 3) Rapport (Knowing the best and worst about someone and still trusting and loving them unconditionally). The definition of romantic love is so subjective that "Can she cook?" is as valid a response as the three stages listed in the OP...

Thanks, Kewpie, for an antidote to the gender specific presumption underlying our new site member's question.

Leave word "Romantic" out and it may sound sound - until some cynic says: "...who cares if she can cook, is she good in bed?"

Of course, some women don't have to cook.
And there are plenty of marriages in which there were husbands who enticed their wives into matrimony with their best dishes.

A woman who can't to cook is like a computer without internet.

I tend to agree, actually. Women 'nurture' almost instinctively, and this includes cooking.

But there are men who aren't interested in 'providing for a family', so why shouldn't there be women who aren't interested in the whole 'nurturing' gig?

    This is completely irrelevant.

Why would you see the world in terms of a false dichotomy?

The 1% must be really happy with you. As long as people
think in terms of man vs. women, Raiders vs. Broncos, or
Christians vs. Muslims, those puppeteering your whole
    life are safe.
