The definition of romantic love is so subjective that "Can she cook?" is as valid a response as the three stages listed in the OP...

I tend to agree, actually. Women 'nurture' almost instinctively, and this includes cooking.
But there are men who aren't interested in 'providing for a family', so why shouldn't there be women who aren't interested in the whole 'nurturing' gig?
