This question is not quite the same as the one Seitse has asked on "What current movies do you recommend?"

Which Black, Hispanic or Asian actors and actresses would you have nominated for major Oscars ~ Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress ~ for their performances in major US films released in 2015 if you'd been a voting member of the Academy?

the academy only nominates/votes on the material that is offered...
and,
while there are many movies that are diverse, and have black, hispanic, asian, and other ethnic actors and actresses, the issue isn't that the stage is bereft of these actors...
the issue is that there aren't enough movies produced that feature these actors...
look at the process and you'll find that right from the start, looking for the money and the diverse cast is where the problem lies...

accusing the academy of exclusion is way too late in the process...
the movie industry is not doing it's correct introspection at the beginning...

gawd this sounds so convoluted...
i hope yall can make heads and tails out it...

It was an interesting comment, nevertheless.

Any performances by Black, Hispanic or Asian actors and actresses in major US films released in 2015 that impressed you?

i am absolutely the wrong person to expound upon this matter...
as far back as 1985 i resolved to abstain from movie theaters, i found the public behaviors of the public to be subhuman (sticks nose in the air and sniffs)...
i had (at the time) top of the line vhs, betamax, and dvd equipment and i enjoyed sitting in my own living room, naked as a jaybird, with my choice of beverage and food at hand...
i felt no need to see the "latest release!", knowing that in about a year i would be able to screen it as often as i wished...
my wife would take the children to see the he-man and thundercats and teenage mutant ninja turtle movies, while i polished my clubs and went to hit a small white ball...

as for black actors, overall, none is better than samuel l jackson...
james earl jones and will smith are close behind...

nutz, forgot morgan freeman...

as for eye candy, if someone were to mention halle berry, i might need to be restrained...

I would put Denzil Washington up there somewhere. As he has 2 Oscars (best Actor AND Best supporting Actor), maybe he doesn't support the 'black actors not recognised brigade'

This year, only Idris Elba was much heralded, but not recognised, as far as I know. I havent seen young Jordan's performance in 'Creed', but would say that this year's Best Actor category is a strong one to break into
