Give your machine a once over with Ewido, Ad-Aware, Spybot etc, then take the previous advice and install firefox.

Actually, hands up, this time I am to blame. (some new ads in the rotation)
A pop up buster will kill them until I get rid of them.
But, just for the record, we do NOT condone using ad washers. If every non-sub starts doing that we have a real problem on our hands.

If you block the ad, is that what's meant by using an ad washer? (as in Firefox's adblock)
Just to spell out the problem (although this is all fairly obvious).
Everyone expects web content/services to be free, just because of the old dot com boom days when no one cared about actually not covering their costs. But that was never sustainable, of course, and is now a distant memory, but unfortunately, people still expect services for free.
So, RHP can offer games for people to try the site so they can consider subscribing. If people choose not to subscribe, and continue as long term active users, then this is absolutely no problem at all.
But in this situation, where in addition, ads are turned off, you are really using the site fraudulently, and if this practice becomes more prevalent, then we would have to introduce something else to tackle very active non-subs who have ads turned off. We do not want to do this, but it is a possibility in the future.
