Would it be possible to allow for increments of 50 rating points (instead of current 100) when setting the rating range for open invites?

It doesn't have to be 50, but I think the rating limit for open invite min/max could be more specific...

    What do you think?

How about 100 - would that suit you?

Oops, maybe I wasn't clear enough...

I meant that the rating min./max. for open invites should be in increments of 50...it's already 100, isn't it?

For example, I'm rated 1441...it would be nice if I could have an open invite only allowing players rated between 1450 and 1500 to accept (rather than the typical 1400-1500) or maybe only 1400-1450 range.

Do you see what I'm saying?

I don't have a problem with your request and it should be a very easy enhancement to make it ANY minimum or ANY maximum you enter; however, i think that the ratings aren't all that stable, so it really doesn't matter . . .no harm in doing as you suggest however.

Meanwhile you could name the games "between xxxx and yyyy ratings only" and delete any that are accepted by anyone who is not.
That's a lot of messing around though.....

I actually have an issue with this new feature and a suggestion to fix it.

I find it annoying that when I try to find a game to play via the Open Invites, there are people rated in the 1300s-1500s only accepting players that are >2000. It's very annoying because not only are there very rarely anyone to accept, it's silly that these mediocre players only want to play great players. My suggestion is to limit the min/max to something like 200 or 300 points above and below your own rating. It would increase the amount of Open Invites that can be accepted, and the matches would be more even.

    Thanks.

    Often been suggested.

I don't think it's what wittywonka meant though.

Yeah, as Dr.Strangelove mentioned, that's an okay idea, I guess, (although those games don't actually hurt anything or hender anything), but I just wanted to have more specification in selecting the rating.

    i have the same reaction, but i don't really care . . . . accept or reject . . it doesn't matter to me . . if a 2000 player actually plays a 1000 player . .maybe it's for a noble reason . .to teach and help her learn!
