Sicialian variation or transposed Scandinavian? anyone like this defense for black?
Originally posted by Darth SpongeThere is nothing wrong with the Scandinavian Defence, it's ver solid but it tends to suck all the life out of the game. Black just sits back with c6, e6, Nd7, Nf6, Bf5, Bb4xNc3, 0-0-0, Qc7 and doubles rooks on the d file. I used to play the Blackmar-Diemer Gambit against the Scandinavian, but even that isn't good enough to tear properly into Black.
I've always had a hunch that the Scandinavian is a good defense, and I also have an inkling that this hunch is wrong, but I thought, well... ok. it's bad.
So I switched to the English, and now I determine where the game goes. 😏
