my first thought is how in white can play exd4 when black has no piece on d4.

typos aside, I think that the Scandinavian Defense sucks.

1.e4 d5 2.exd5 Nf6 3.Nc3 c6 is interesting. Offering a gambit pawn for development.

l played this OTB as white last week in club championship. The reply 1....d5 was a total suprise so it got me thinking (and using time) straight away.

1. e4 d5 2. e5 c5 3. d4 e6 4. Nf3 b6 5. c4 Bb7 6. Nc3 Ne7 7. Nb5 Nf5 8. Bg5 Qd7
9. Be2 h6 10. Bf4 a6 11. Nc3 Nc6 12. cxd5 exd5 13. dxc5 bxc5 14. O-O d4 15. Na4
Qd8 16. Qb3 Rb8 17. e6 Qe7 18. Bxb8 Nxb8 19. exf7+ Qxf7 20. Rfe1 Qxb3 21. Bc4+

Still banging my head against the wall as I managed to lose form here - but it was a winning position!

your second move was a mistake (not a useful move and a waste of tempo)
