For beating a p1200 who had won 4 games and is now a p1565 (ish) after completing 5 games. I had to work damn hard for that win (well he missed up and resigned but still before then it was 50/50).

Where is the reward for playing any p1200s?

Since his rating was 1200 when you won him and yours was 1602.

Your rating change is 0.5*32*(1-(1/(10^((1200-1602)/400)+1))) = 1.43939328302.

So your rating change is 1 in whole number.

And this is the reason why I don't play p1200s. This was a tournament and was forced to play him but he could have been a 2000 player just starting on the site, to get 1 point for a win is insane.

They shouldn't allow provisional players to join a tournament.

Then why did you enter the tournament that I'm talking about? 😛

Should be a rule that you have to complete at least 5 games before you can enter though.

It is obvious my rating is 2000+.

Considering your draw against a 2300+ player, probably more like 2200+.
Do you have a club rating or FIDE or USCF?
