What have I missed?
The knight captures queen in the next move, forking the bishop and rook. Obviously, black will try to save the rook, which will lead to knight taking black's bishop, which is a better piece. King will then capture the knight, losing the ability to castle.
So black would be 2.25 points down in material (bishop is worth 3.25, compared to a knight, worth 3 points), and is minus the ability to castle, plus has no pawns nearby to protect it. A resignation makes sense in this case.

I don't put a numberical value on pieces, I judge them by their activity
or thier potential activity.
My only active piece was going to be a Rook and his minor pieces would have
developed on it His gets active along time before me and can play swapsy.
and I'm two passed pawns down. Also his King will safer than mine.
When this lot have finished I'm going to keep it a 5.
Score 17-1 but appearing to be losing about another 5 or 6.
(I'm at the chepo setting stage.) ๐
Having some smashing games....and of course opening traps.
