Now, that just hurts. Maybe you can not just rush from your PC CC game to a OTB board and play games against young freak thinking you will do something spectacular ?? 🙁 But the main problem is that I didn't feel the board at all, it felt unfamiliar, I couldn't see all the board and relations between pieces like I see it on PC (98 percent of my chess games are played via internet, using 2D boards only). Can I blame that too ?
I feel very bad whole day. My self confidence is severely wounded. 🙁

maybe your cousin has improved...at that age they improve very fast
It happens to me every time after long break from a real chessboard. Also, when I try to visualize in my head some position or sequence of moves I always imagine 2D board. 😛
Maybe I should start to analyze all my RHP moves using real board. That could help.

That is true. But out of three slow games (25 minutes + 5 seconds of increment per each move ) I've won two even if the board was not total clear to me only because I had more time to look at the board. But on blitz it is impossible for me to play on the level I play for example, on FICS

I played my first OTB game ever last week (yes, that's true), and although I won, I really felt exactly like you have described.
The board was very strange and distant, there were pieces everywhere that I could not keep track of, and I felt I was only going by instinct, rather than the calculation processes I had adapted in CC. I was actually terrified of losing to a complete beginner after such time devoted to work. Luckily, I won.
