1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Nc3 Nf6 4.Bc4 Bb4
I just played a game like this... it continued, 5.d3 d5! (I think it deserves a !) because after 6.exd Nxd5 7.Bxd5 Qxd5 I got a good pretty good position. The game continued 8.a3 Bxc3 9.bxc3 b5 10.c4 (another mistake) anyway, from here there was an exchange and I won with an eventual knight fork.
What do you think white should have done differently after 4...Bb4? It seems to me that this opening for white is too passive, what are your thoughts? is 4...Bb4 a proper counter?

I also play the 4...Bb4 line.
All the real games I have played in that line as black has been draws or wins by black. Even in blitz, I don't recall losing against that opening.
There is always the usual Nxe4 (for Black) or Nxe5 (for White) and then the fork after that.
