50 move rule?

Computers have already demonstrated that the 50-move rule is illogical. There are several endgames that have forced wins that take longer than 50 moves. FIDE finally threw up its hands trying to keep track of all of them, and just re-instated the old 50 move rule across the board.

The idea is to see any progress towards winning the game by any side. Castling may not necessarily lead to a win. Pawn promotion does in many cases.
