keep trying you'll make it. going back and studying the games you lost could be a crucial part in whether you reach 1400 or not..... find your mistakes and then find what move could have been better. you'll hit 1400 this way easily.

And I know what it's like to be knocking on 1400, after state championships, I am now 1399...and I have to wait for 3 months until the next rated tournament. Hopefully we can both go up that last little bit

Actually I am happy I have 1987 rating as it happens to be my year of birth too.
