Game 10469800 This game became an automatic draw. I don't understand, I had just achieved a 2nd queen, and I had the advantage, but it said I couldn't win. Is there anyone that can explain it?

My friend, you have just been introduced to the bad karma response to greed known as the stalemate.
You captured his queen and guaranteed that your opponent had no legal move.
When a player has no legal move, but his king is not in check, the game ends in stalemate.
You have just encouraged every player in the world to play on to the bitter end. Next time don't play with your food. Just mate the guy and move on.

That's stalemate - your opponent has no legal moves.
If you had captured with the queen instead of the pawn you would have had checkmate.
Wow, great lesson. All valid points. Greenpawn, those that forget the past are bound to repeat it, but it's the first time I realized something about this "draw" was different. How did you access old records like that? I see that I could have had checkmate, but blew it.

I learned the same way, unfortunately. I used to play with my food like a cat. Now I eat like a dog- rip, swallow, and run like heck!

I can see how it slips one's mind. Just a few minutes ago I was looking
at a load of games I played v the Caro Kann.
I had forgotten all about a few nice wins I had with the White side.
One I can barely recall at all, but the losses. I can remember those.
When I saw you had played a load of games I thought you must have
had a stalemate in the past. So a quick flck through your games found two.
(surprised some of the others lads did not do the same) There may indeed
be others I stopped looking after finding two.
