I am just a beginner. So could somebody please explain this to me 1.e4e5 2.Nf3Nc6 3.Bc4Bc5 4.c3Nf6 5.d4exd4 6.cxd4Bb4+ 7.Nc3 Nxe4.
Q1. Why play 7.Nc3? You end up losing a pawn. Q2. Continuing on the above line 8.0-0 Nxc3 9.bxc3 Bxc3.You lose one more pawn??
I guess there are some advantages cause i have seen several games going along the above lines (chessbase.com). Can someone point them out to me.
An interesting line that caught my eye was
7. Bd2 Nxe4 8.Bxb4 Nxb4 9.Bxf7 Kxf7 10.Qb3+ Kf8 11.Qxb4
Any comments on the above line?
Thanks for your help.

10. Bxf7+ Kxf7
11. Bg5 Qf8
12. Qb3+ d5
13. Qxc3=
so actually white has a even but interesting game after that
youre also right that 7.Bd2 is probably stronger than 7. Nc3
but i think even before that the move 6.e5 leads to better play for whit than immediately capturing on d4
followed by
6.... d5
7. Bb5 Ne4
8. cxd4 Bb4+
9. Nbd2 0-0
10. 0-0

White's plan is to offer up the rook to trap the opposite King in the centre. The line I chose would probably lead to White having a Queen and a Knight vs. two rooks and a pawn. Not sure if that's even, though.
