We've been having some nice analysis going on here lately but its a bit disorganized. If you have a game or position for analysis please post it here. I'll get the ball rolling.
white to move analyse the position and find the best move.

this is quite difficult. this time, white is down in material, so the question 'which is best move' has to be seen more basic - maybe the best move is to get even in material, maybe the best move is mate in two or three...
anyway, Qxb7 looks striking, it seems to win a rook and pawn for a knight...and tempo .
the check by rd1 is tempting, but if blacks exchanges queen for knight and rook, it is still better, i deem...
so, other options are for me oclouded, seem to end in a gul-de-sac. i think i would go for rd1 and after qxd1, qxd1+, kxd6 followed by qb3+, picking up the pawn on b7 and threatening the rook to keep the tempo...
Edit: very nice line, velvet. i think the outcome is much more difficult for black...

Yes and I missed that in the game instead playing 1. g4 which is still good.

Just Qd5+ and white now has time because black has not checks so white can play a quiet move after the king moves.

I'm going to sit this one out, I'm still completely bamboozled by swissgambit's 12 move checkmate problem... I suspect this may not be finished this evening...
