Exy under 3(b) - same as Ironman31, Yozzer, etc.

Draw your own conclusions.

Absolute rubbish. This is getting ridiculous. I'm starting to have second thoughts about staying here.
As far as I know, Exy's fault was to have Winboard open which he said he used to manually analyse games. The RHP game analysis board currently does not allow you to go backwards and forwards.
Russ, this is getting to the point where we need explanations. Has a thorough analysis of his games been done and what is the result? To my mind, the analysis methodology should only be applied in the instance of a strong player to those games against opponents rated over, say, 1900. Weaker players make mistakes which are obvious to the stronger ones and there are always going to be a big correlation between game engines and the good players. Mistakes almost force the moves by themselves. We're not talking GM or IM vs GM or IM level.

Yeah. 3b could mean a few things, well, its too bad. I see some of these names year after year, you knid of get used to seeing them after a while. A grim reminder this is cyberspace, not real at all I guess🙁

If Exy was cheating, then he was also deliberately losing against me. Would someone whose ego requires cheating allow deliberate goofs?

I am shocked and confused as heck!

(much snippage)
Unless someone saw Exy in an internet cafe, how would the moderators know he had Winboard open?

Maybe I'm stupid, but I'd like to know.

Id like to know the evidence on which Exy was convicted too. I for one support the investigation of players suspected of using engines because it's so out of hand. But I'd also like to know the reasons behind those convictions. Otherwise, without transparency, it does seem like witch hunts to a lot of people. You know, if someone accused me of using an engine, i wouldn't know what to do, how to defend myself, other than pointing out a lot of lousy moves in my games. How do you prove you're not a witch?

Wow! Exy was a regular. I'm a little shocked also.

I think it is a very grim reminder that we are in cyber space. None of the people we meet here are "real". They are all just accounts created by someone.
I have no doubt that his conviction did not come lightly or half-hearted.
To kick someone off like that, they must have had definate proof.
A sad day indeed.

Just remember, when the Inquisition gives you the paternoster pea test, you SWALLOW IT WHOLE. If you chew it, the poison is released and you croak.

I think you misunderstood my short exclamation. I find it a tough call for the moderators to make. I have had a couple of games with Exy and chatted with him a lot through the games. I find it very hard to believe he has been cheating. He certainly wouldn't need to cheat to beat me though. I rather liked him.
