    This is really more of an opinion/survey. After 1.d4 Nf6 2. c4 e6 3. Nf3

    Do you play

    ...Bb4+ (the Bogo Indian), or

    ...b6 (the Queen's Indian), or

    ...d5 (the Queen's Gambit), or

...c5 (the Benoni), or something else?

Of course this is just personal preference, but I prefer 3. ... b6

It really depends on my mood and the situation. If I am ready for sharp chess or need to win I will play c5, benoni! If I want a safer game, I will go for bogo-indian, because the lines are relatively unexplored and can get pretty interesting!

I play d5, but I like the look of b6, might try it soon.

...c5. The only lines in the Modern Benoni that worry me are the ones where white plays an early f4, but after Nf3 he can't do that!

I play b6, but mostly because I haven't had the time to take a closer look on the alternatives.

I also play b6. The bogo just feels way to passive and I get fed up and do something stupid. The queens indian is also often times passive, but I understand what's going on better so I can make constructive moves.

In CC I will play b6. I think the QID is probably the best in terms of actual theory.

OTB I play the Bogo, it's pretty lightweight memorization and the themes are akin to some lines of the Nimzo.

I appreciate the distinction you make. I play CC for fun, and I play OTB for blood, so my approach is different. I've played all sorts of things on the site, mostly with the idea of using this as a testbed before I "put things on the line" OTB.
