Anyone here play any of the asian varieties? I know Mok Luk from
living two years in Thailand, its quite a bit of regular chess, they
solved the problem of how to get the pawns up to the 4th rank by
simply putting all the pawns on the third rank and there are pieces
like in Shogi, the queen is one of the weakest pieces on the board,
and there are golds and silvers but it has pawn promotion, the rooks
are the same and knights but no bishop and like I said the queen is
weak. Any other kinds you play?

I'm trying to get someone to teach me Changgi, which is the Korean version of chess. Actually I found a site where you can play it online, but it's still being debugged.

I play Chinese chess (Xiangqi) but I am pretty awful at it. I also know the rules for Weiqi aka Go but I have only ever played it once.

Are there any correspondence chess sites out there for Xiangqi?

I finally played my first game of Changgi the other day. It's remarkably similar to chess as we know it; so much so that I was able to utilize common tactcal motifs of chess such as the discovered attack and the pin in Changgi as well. I managed to win my very first game, although the person who taught me admitted that he is not very good at it. The game is also apparently very similar to Chinese chess, with one of the differences being that the "river" in the latter game is not used.

I've been itching to try out Go for some time. I have been playing Othello (from what I know, Othello is a Go variation) with my lady lately and we have both wanted a reason to get a Go board.

There are tons of chess variants on, you guessed it, chessvariants.com. It also has a link to a site with tons of demonstration applets, although the AI's play more or less randomly, purportedly to save memory and download time.

Yes. I once tried It's Your Turn, but being a primarily English chess player, I didn't like IYT because it didn't offer ratings.
