I am thinking if I spent a while doing a google search and other search engines. I could probably find other chess web sites that have what www.chessmagnetschool.com has.

Right now chessmagnetschool.com is the only web site were I could go on without a username and a password and practice checkmates. Now I realize you cannot practice whatever checkmates you want. You can only practice two rooks vs a king, king and queen vs a king, king and rook vs a king, bishop and knight and king vs a king and king and queen vs king and rook.
You can also play against their computer. Right now on my internet search I did not find any web site were just about anybody can go and play against their computer for free or practice any kind of checkmate for free.

I was wondering if you guys know of any other web sites were you can go and play against their computer as well as practice various checkmates for free. Even ifyou have to put in a username and password. To me free is free unless they are going to sell your information. Now with chessmagnetschool.com you dont have to register to play against their computer or practice the 4 or 5 checkmates.

I am thinking by asking all of you here, my search will be quicker. Before I use to practice the Bishop and knight at chessmagnetschool.com's toolbox.

I am thinking it would be a good thing to know especially if you travel and cant carry your laptop or software with you everywhere.

http://www.ludochess.com/jester_eng/jester_eng.html - you can play against a chess computer.

Those are the only sites I know of. Thanks for posting this one, it looks great!

this is blatant rogue advertising. you play 8 moves on the site and post a huge narrative about a website, mentioning it by name over and over again. get outta here. not worth my cut-and-paste.

chess only please

Chestjester, thank you for the link. Ivanhine, you have to click on the toolbox to get to the board and to play a game or practice checkmate.

And how can you be so sure that he's guilty of advertising here? I've read his public postings, and I don't get the impression he's doing that. So far, he just seems to be someone who's greatly interested in learning endgame techniques. (Frankly more techniques than I'm interested in, but that's his business.)

And so what if he's only made 8 moves so far? I was in the forums a year before I ever played a game. Why don't you read through all of my public posts and try to dredge up something on me? There's no RHP requirement that a forum poster ever has to play a single game here.

If it turns out he is doing spam advertising, we'll know soon enough. But frankly, it's too soon to make that call. And I think you were a little quick on the trigger.

Chessgames.com has a computer you can play against. I think it's called Lavasoft.

Hey,

I am just trying to learn just chess and learn the essentials. I am only mentioning chessmagnetschool.com because they seem to be the only one were you can practice your checkmates for free to my knowledge and I am just trying to learn another source.

Now I know from others that there are others. Right now I dont go to their lessons. If I was advertising I would be mentioning in all my posts.
