The idea is that you can have a non-timeoutable vacation for a limited amount of time, i.e. not like now when you can put up the vacation flag whenever you want. I don't think it would slow down games much, and it would allow you to enter somewhat fast tournaments even if you might be on vacation and unable to move in a year or two.

I agree that it is a good idea. 4 weeks per year is what most working people get for vacation. It shouldn't have too much of a detrimental effect on other players.
